Needs are growing

Today more children are in need of humanitarian assistance than at any other time since World War II.

Across the globe, children are facing a historic confluence of crises – from conflict and displacement to infectious disease outbreaks and soaring rates of malnutrition. The numbers read like an itemized list of danger and hardship: More than 400 million children living in areas under conflict; an estimated 1 billion children – nearly half the world’s children – living in countries at extreme vulnerability to the impacts of climate change; at least 36.5 million children displaced from their homes – the highest number ever recorded; and 8 million children under age 5 in 15 crisis-hit countries at risk of death from severe wasting.

Yet, children’s chance to survive and thrive in life depends entirely on the nurturing care that they receive in the first 1,000 days of life; the learning and education they receive; and the healthy and safe environment they live in.

We need to support an unprecedent number of children affected by emergencies. Please help now!

Help UNICEF reach more children in need

When an emergency strikes, it’s children who suffer the most.

In disasters like these, all over the world, every minute counts and your donation can make all the difference.
With your support, UNICEF can respond to existing crises and help children and their families build resilience for those yet to come.

Every year, we respond to hundreds of emergencies. Our ability to reach any part of the world with urgent relief supplies including medical supplies, shelter, life-saving therapeutic food, safe water, and vaccines in the event of a disaster, is a testament to our collective commitment to every child in need.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to always be there for every child, whenever and wherever they’re in crisis.
