Help Denisa and other children like her live a better life

Denisa was diagnosed with epilepsy at three months and spastic tetraparesis at four years. At the age of four, a severe epileptic fit turned into a coma, with doctors then giving her only "two weeks" to live.

Denisa benefits from the support of UNICEF through the Integrated Community Center, where the girl received the specialized help she needed. In centers of this type, children from vulnerable families receive free access to specialized services, depending on their needs.

Today, we can see with our own eyes the great miracle: doctors, well-wishers, mother's tireless strength and professionals from the Integrated Community Center made every effort to improve Denisa's condition. Currently, Denisa can sit without support, move her whole body, cling with her hands and work with the help of the physical therapist towards her big dream: standing up with support.

In order to enjoy a better life, Denisa needs various therapies, which are otherwise difficult to access.

UNICEF in Romania supports children with disabilities like Denisa, through the development of Integrated Community Centers. In these centers, children can access free of charge specialized services, like:

  • physical therapy;
  • speech therapy;
  • psychological counseling.

There are currently five such centers in the country and we need your help to provide specialized services to children in need.

Your monthly donation is very important for Denisa and other children like her.

Thank you for choosing to help.
