Syria
After more than a decade of conflict, the Syrian crisis continues to have a huge impact on children inside Syria, across the region and beyond. Every Syrian child has been impacted by the violence, displacement, severed family ties and lack of access to vital services caused by massive physical devastation. UNICEF continue to work to protect children, to help them cope with the impact of conflict. This includes improving psychosocial support to help children and caregivers recover from trauma, as well as delivering lifesaving support and services for children struggling physically and psychologically.

Children in Gaza and Lebanon
Without an immediate de-escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, the lives and futures of 1.3 million children are at serious risk. UNICEF is on the ground, assessing and responding to needs and providing essential support to children and their families. While in Gaza children are dying at an alarming rate – more than 14,000 are reported to have been killed in this current conflict and thousands more have been injured. Around 1.7 million people in the Gaza Strip are estimated to have been internally displaced – half of them children. They do not have enough access to water, food, fuel and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed; their families torn apart.UNICEF and its partners are on the ground in Gaza delivering immediate humanitarian support.
The ongoing surge of hostilities in the State of Palestine and Israel is taking a horrendous toll on the lives of children and their families.

2 years of war for Ukraine’s children
Nearly two thirds of Ukraine’s children have been forced to flee their homes. Some have fled alone, exposing them to abuse, abduction, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. Fear, anxiety, and grief associated with violence, loss of loved ones, separation from family, and displacement persist in children’s daily lives, leaving them struggling to cope. Many children who have sought refuge in neighbouring countries remain without access to education, healthcare, and protection services.
