Situation in Myanmar
Homes, schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water supply, electricity networks, communication towers have sustained severe damage. It is estimated that over 17 million people across 57 townships have been affected.
Our teams are on the ground, working with partners to rapidly address the urgent life-saving needs of the impacted communities. Priority needs are food, drinking water, health care, sanitation facilities, cash assistance, and emergency shelter. UNICEF has prepositioned supplies including essential medicines, oral rehydration salts, and various health and hygiene kits that are being dispatched to children and families in desperate need.
In crises like this, every minute counts.
This comes on top of an already dire situation. Myanmar is now in its fourth year of escalating conflict, and millions of children were already living in fear, displacement, and deepening poverty.
The devastation caused by the earthquake only adds to the needs of children and we need your help.
Give now to help children and families in Myanmar.
