The world continues to be a merciless place for too many children - children caught in wars, children on the move, and children who are hungry, hurt or neglected.

A single question emerges: Who is going to protect the most vulnerable? Please say, YES, I AM.

Now is the time!

Right now, too many children around the world are facing some of the toughest challenges of their lives.

  • Famine is confirmed in many areas of Sudan— children are facing extreme hunger
  • War in Gaza and Ukraine have destroyed lives, homes and families
  • Millions of children do not have access to clean water— putting their lives at risk to diseases like cholera and typhoid.

These are not future problems. This is happening now.

The moment to act to save and protect children’s lives is NOW.

With your support UNICEF will continue to deliver lifesaving supplies, services and care for these children.

Every child matters. Every action makes a difference.

Famine Gaza

Two-year-old Yazan, severely malnourished, lives in the Shati (Beach) refugee camp in Gaza City. His mother, Naima, says, “We have not had flour or any food assistance for two months.” Yazan sits on a torn piece of foam, his wide eyes heavy with exhaustion, his thin body clearly showing signs of acute hunger. Malnutrition has spread rapidly among children in the Gaza Strip, with rates in Gaza City rising fourfold since February.

In Gaza, famine has become a grim reality. Children like two-year-old Yazan, already severely malnourished, are on the brink of starvation. Families are going days without food, parents are skipping meals to feed their children, and more than half a million people are trapped in catastrophic hunger. Without immediate humanitarian access, more children will die from hunger and preventable disease. Your donation today can help UNICEF deliver lifesaving therapeutic food, clean water, and medical supplies to children and families who need it most.

When you choose to join us and stay for children, we can do so much more.

It’s not just a matter of helping in an emergency. Children deserve long-term solutions to the crises they face. They need help to heal and recover, to learn how to dream and smile again.

We can stay because of you. Your donations and your attention give us the power to be ready, to jump in when children need us, and to stay with them for as long as it takes.

But doing all this requires financial resources. Regular donors from around the world are the lifeblood of UNICEF’s ongoing support.

With monthly donations, your generosity helps us to:

  • Plan ahead. Consistent funding means we can allocate resources more effectively, ensuring that children receive the help they need, month after month.
  • Ensure stability. A predictable income means we can maintain essential programmes without the fear of running out of funds.
  • Maximize impact. Knowing we will receive a certain amount each month allows us to set realistic goals and achieve them.

The power of staying with us

When you stay, you’re standing with children in the face of crisis. You’re telling them they aren’t alone, they aren’t forgotten, and that they matter.

Adila once walked long distances every day to bring water home. Now, with UNICEF's special facilities, the faucet is just a few steps from her home, providing clean, drinkable water.
Mohamed's Fight Against Malnutrition
Mohamed's fight against malnutrition
Two-year-old Mohamed is showing steady improvement in his health after receiving UNICEF’s therapeutic food to address malnutrition and support child growth. Climate change and the extreme weather it causes have dramatically affected regions like Somalia, leading to a surge in child malnutrition.

Albara's daily struggle to go to school
My daily life is very difficult! Every morning, I go to school with my sister, whom I have to carry in my arms because she cannot walk. The same happens in the afternoon when we return. I come back, and all I want is to sleep, but I have to go to work.

What does UNICEF do in Kyrgyzstan and in the world?

At UNICEF, we work in some of the most difficult places to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them reach their full potential. In 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for all of them. And we never give up.

Our vision is a world fit for each and every child. Your support can help us achieve this vision and have a lasting impact on the lives of children in Kyrgyzstan around the world.

Since 1994, UNICEF has been working to improve the well-being of children and families in Kyrgyzstan. We support and strengthen national systems to ensure that every child, including children and adolescents with disabilities, survives, thrives, learns, and lives in a safe environment free from violence and poverty.

Our work is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), an international human rights treaty that sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. Kyrgyzstan ratified the CRC in 1994.

UNICEF’s new Country Programme for the period 2023-2027 focuses on reaching the most disadvantaged children. UNICEF works in close partnership with the Government of Kyrgyzstan to strengthen social policies and systems, while also working on the ground to ensure that these systems effectively reach all children, with a particular emphasis on the most vulnerable. This collaboration spans key areas such as child protection, education and the development of adolescents, health, nutrition, and the promotion of a climate-resilient environment. Across all these sectors, UNICEF integrates cross-cutting priorities including disability inclusion, gender equality, and the rights and needs of children with disabilities. Through this comprehensive approach, UNICEF supports the Government in building inclusive, equitable, and sustainable systems that uphold the rights and well-being of every child in Kyrgyzstan.

But when you sign up to become a monthly donor, your contribution has a bigger impact, and it supports UNICEF’s pooled emergency-response fund for the many countries where we work. It means that we are always ready to act when a crisis strikes anywhere around the globe.
