This Ramadan, make a gift to help deliver therapeutic food to children like Aseel

Together as a community, we can reach further

Aseel is 2 years old and he has been suffering with severe acute malnutrition since he was 2 months old. He received treatment in a hospital supported by UNICEF and after 4 months he started to gain weight. But his fight against malnutrition continues, and the experience of seeing their child go hungry still remains in his family’s memory. In countries like Yemen and Afghanistan, the malnutrition rates are soaring, but the support of generous donors like you can help bring hope.

Around the world, Muslim communities are coming together to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan through prayer and fasting.

But too many children like Aseel and their families are unable to have a proper meal to start and break their fast. This Ramadan, your sadaqah can help UNICEF provide life-saving and critical supplies like therapeutic food, access to water and much more to children in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and many other parts of the world.

UNICEF is the largest provider of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) in the world. It is a sweet, peanut-based, nutrient-enriched paste that is effective in treating malnutrition among children. 3 packets a day for 8 weeks can save the life of a child with severe acute malnutrition. In 2021, with support from individual donors like you, UNICEF helped 3.1 million children fight malnutrition in Yemen alone.

We need you to continue this work.

Join us to give a better future to the most vulnerable children. There is no better time than now, as we celebrate one of the most holy moments of the year.

Donate to UNICEF this Ramadan and help us reach children like Fatima, Gosson and Sajeed.

There’s no better time than now to save a life.

Fatima, child with malnutrition in Yemen

As many other children under 5, Fatima arrived in a hospital in Yemen suffering from severe dehydration and malnutrition, resulting in kidney failure. She was put on a treatment programme and is recovering now.

Gosson, child in Yemen with malnutrition

She is one of the many children in Yemen who have been affected by malnutrition. She was referred to a hospital and started a treatment with therapeutic food. Once her health improved, she was back home, where she could finally eat regular food with her mother’s help.

Sajeed, child in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, the situation has become dire for many families in the brink of poverty. Cash assistance is being distributed by UNICEF to help vulnerable families like Sajeed’s. This money will help them meet critical needs like food this Ramadan.

Your sadaqah can make big difference this Ramadan.

PlumpyNut are sackets of therapeutic food used to treat children affected by severe acute malnutrition. Each package contains a peanut-based paste that can help recover a child within weeks. Providing this treatment to children is key to help them recover as quickly as possible.

Water

In Yemen, your sadaqah can help to provide water and sanitation services to displaced populations and schools. Your support can bring assistance in the form of water points and communal water tanks, latrines, hygiene kits and household water treatment tablets.

Cash Assistance
poor-afghanistan

Helping the most vulnerable families to meet their basic needs is our goal in 4 provinces in Afghanistan. Every month, each household receives a lifeline of $80 to buy food, clothes and medicines for their children. This money is making a difference in their lives, helping them to survive.
