Like many other children under 5, Fatima arrived in a hospital in Yemen suffering from severe dehydration and malnutrition. This resulted in kidney failure, and she was quickly put on a treatment programme where she is now recovering.
Ghosson is one of the many children in Yemen who have been affected by malnutrition. She was referred to a hospital and started treatment with therapeutic food. Once her health improved, she was back home, where she could finally eat regular food with her mother’s help.
The situation has become dire in Afghanistan, with many families falling into poverty. Cash assistance is being distributed by UNICEF to help vulnerable families like Sajeed’s. This money will help them meet critical needs like food this Eid Al Adha.
