Aseel, a severely malnourished 2-year-old in Yemen, has been suffering from severe acute malnutrition since he was 2 months old. Aseel received treatment in a hospital supported by UNICEF and started to gain weight after 4-months. His fight against malnutrition continues, and the memory of his hunger still lives on with his family. In countries like Yemen and Afghanistan, the malnutrition rates are soaring, but the support of generous donors like you this Eid season will help bring hope.

هديتك العاجلة في العيد ستزوّد الأطفال المستضعفين بأغذية علاجية وخدمات المياه التي يحتاجونها ليتمكنوا من البقاء والازدهار. اليونيسف هي أكبر مزوّد في العالم للأغذية العلاجية الجاهزة للاستعمال، وهذه الأغذية هي عجينة حلوة المذاق أساسها الفول السوداني ومعززة بالمغذيات وفعالة في معالجة سوء التغذية بين الأطفال. وبوسع 3 عبوات يومياً لمدة 8 أسابيع أن تنقذ حياة طفل مصاب بسوء التغذية الحاد الوخيم.
ستزوّد صدقتك الأسر في أفغانستان بمساعدة نقدية تحتاجها لتتمكن من البقاء والازدهار. إن هدفنا هو مساعدة الأسر الأشد ضعفاً في 4 ولايات في أفغانستان. وتتلقى كل أسرة مبلغ 80 دولاراً شهرياً يمثل لها شريان حياة إذ يتيح لها شراء أغذية وملابس وأدوية لأطفالها.

مثل العديد من الأطفال دون سن الخامسة، وصلت «فاطمة» إلى مستشفى في اليمن وهي تعاني من جفاف وسوء تغذية شديدين، وقد أدى ذلك إلى إصابتها بفشل كلوي، وأُلحقت فوراً ببرنامج علاجي حيث باتت تتعافى حالياً.
«غصون» هي واحدة من أطفال عديدين في اليمن تأثروا بسوء التغذية. وقد أحيلت إلى المستشفى وبدأت في تلقي العلاج بالأغذية العلاجية. وحالما تحسنت صحتها عادت إلى المنزل حيث بات بوسعها تناول الأغذية العادية بمساعدة من أمها.
لقد أصبح الوضع فظيعاً في أفغانستان إذ وقعت أسر عديدة في براثن الفقر. وتعكف اليونيسف على توزيع مساعدات نقدية للأسر المستضعفة من قبيل أسرة «ساجد»، وسيساعدها هذا المال على تلبية الاحتياجات الضرورية من قبيل الأغذية في عيد الأضحى لهذا العام.
