Education is a lifeline for children in crisis
Attacks on Gaza have left Laith and some 659,000 children deprived of their right to access education. Education is not a privilege—it is a right for every child. For children in crisis, education is more than just learning; it is a necessity that helps them cope with harsh realities and face an uncertain future.
Millions of children worldwide miss out on education due to a lack of resources, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and wars that destroy their classrooms, robbing them of this fundamental right. How can children dream of a better future when they are still denied one of the most basic human rights—the right to education? Help children caught in crisis today achieve their full potential.

Against all odds, UNICEF and its partners are working tirelessly to ensure that children, especially those caught in crises, have access to quality education. Education is not just about learning—it’s their lifeline, a beacon of hope, and their pathway to a brighter future despite the challenges they face.
We provide children with education kits, safe learning spaces, psychosocial support, teacher training, and more. Without education, children are deprived of the chance to become leaders, healers, builders, and changemakers, limiting their potential to shape a better tomorrow for themselves and the world around them.
For millions of children living in conflict and crisis, the UNICEF-provided school supplies are their lifeline and hope for a better tomorrow.
UNICEF and partners are working on the ground, rehabilitating schools across countries like Yemen and Syria so more children get a safe education environment.
UNICEF and partners are working closely to improve school access and learning for 580,000 children in more than 1,000 schools across Yemen. The project includes paying incentives and regular salaries to more than 35,000 teachers and school-based staff to ensure regular attendance and teaching.
UNICEF and partners are providing psychosocial support through fun activities to children in countries like Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Bangladesh to help them heal from the trauma.
