Join us in making good nutrition a reality for every child in South Sudan

The Challenge:  Acute malnutrition is at alarming levels in South Sudan, with 2 million children under five at risk in 2025 – a 26 per cent increase from 2024. Climate change, increasingly violent conflict, and poor health services all contribute to the crisis.

The Solution:   UNICEF is on the ground providing lifesaving care. Kaway, a 22-year-old mother of four, fled the war in Sudan. After 11 days on foot, her youngest child, Nathiang, was severely ill. At a UNICEF-supported centre, she was diagnosed with severe acute malnutrition—a condition that can be fatal if untreated. Thanks to immediate care and therapeutic food, she began to recover. Kaway shared: “We just had to flee the fighting and now we are sleeping in the open with nothing. I’m grateful for the support we are receiving but we are struggling with shelter, food, and water.” With your support, UNICEF can continue delivering emergency supplies and treatment to mothers and children in need.

You have the power to bring hope to South Sudan’s most vulnerable children.

Your generosity directly improves children's lives by giving them a healthy start and a brighter future.

Be the change. Help create a healthier future for children in need

In 2024, your support helped UNICEF and partners protect millions of children and mothers from the long-term effects of malnutrition. By working together with governments and partners, we delivered life-saving nutrition interventions that are building healthier futures for the most vulnerable:

  • Nearly 340,000 children under five treated for severe malnutrition
  • Over 2.4 million children reached with vitamin A supplementation
  • 2.1 million children received deworming treatment
  • 1.8 million pregnant and breastfeeding mothers supported with nutrition counselling

Your generosity helps make this possible — thank you for being part of the solution.

The time to act is now — because children are the future.

We’ve joined forces with the civil society, businesses, academia, and the government, but without your support, we can't reach every child in need.

You choose for how long you wish to donate: monthly or only once. In order to contribute to a fundamental change in the lives of vulnerable children, the longer you choose to get involved, the more powerful your donation will be. Vulnerable children’s lives can improve if you are a part of and contribute to the work that we are doing, and to the solutions that we are providing. By donating, you become an active part of the solution and change process.

A monthly donation is a recurring gift amount that you choose to send each month, and it is even more impactful, as this means that you'll be helping children every single day.

Your monthly gift will also enable us to plan effectively in our upcoming work, reduce costs and most importantly, reach even more children in need. The support and generosity of monthly donors contribute significantly to UNICEF's efforts to help vulnerable children.

Your donation is used to support UNICEF's programmes for children in need in South Sudan.

UNICEF encourages monthly donations to help us deliver sustainable, long-term solutions for children both in the region and globally.
