Thanks to you, we're creating a brighter future for all children

South Africa’s contrasts are stark.  Some children head to school with bright hopes and a clean uniform, while others begs for money at a traffic light. Some children can walk for hours just to reach school and learn, while others are transported in comfortable vehicles in leafy suburbs (and still, 81 percent of Grade 4 learners in South Africa cannot read for meaning). Some children still lose their lives in their mother’s arms, arriving at clinics too late for treatment. And at least three children die daily from violent attacks. But with your support, we can change this!

You have the power to shine your light and share your generosity, bringing hope and a brighter future to vulnerable children. It’s our shared responsibility to protect these children today, ensuring they are safe, loved, and cared for. By nurturing and empowering future generations, we can give every child the opportunity to thrive. Your support can make an extraordinary difference together, we can create a world where every child feels valued and has the chance to succeed.

The time to act is now, as children are the future. And by contributing to UNICEF’s work, you are directly and positively impacting the lives of children who deserve the chance to thrive, dream, and succeed. Join the movement and be a champion for children!

Help South Africa's children thrive, build and enjoy a brighter life.

Join us now!  With your support we can change more lives, empower more communities and shape a better tomorrow for children in South Africa.

UNICEF South Africa's 2024 efforts have led to significant accomplishments that we continue to build on in 2025:

  • ✔️ Empowered caregivers: Building on the success of supporting nearly 35,000 caregivers through parenting support programs to create safer, nurturing environments for children.
  • ✔️ Reduced vaccine gaps: Continuing efforts to decrease the number of unvaccinated children, ensuring more are protected from preventable diseases.
  • ✔️ Inspired Future Innovators: Expanding timely foundational literacy and numeracy programs, based on mother tongue, to better prepare children to read, write, understand numbers, and enjoy school.

No donation is too small, and any donation can help save children's lives.

You choose for how long you wish to donate: monthly or only once. In order to contribute to a fundamental change in the lives of vulnerable children, the longer you choose to get involved, the more powerful your donation will be. Vulnerable children’s lives can improve if you are a part of and contribute to the work that we are doing, and to the solutions that we are providing. By donating, you become an active part of the solution and change process.

A monthly donation is a recurring gift amount that you choose to send each month, and it is even more impactful, as this means that you'll be helping children every single day.

Your monthly gift will also enable us to plan effectively in our upcoming work, reduce costs and most importantly, reach even more children in need. The support and generosity of monthly donors contribute significantly to UNICEF's efforts to help vulnerable children.

Your donation is used to support UNICEF's programmes for children in need in South Africa.

UNICEF encourages monthly donations to help us deliver sustainable, long-term solutions for children both in the region and globally.
