"Like the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a child-rights crisis. It will affect all children, now and in the long-term, but vulnerable groups will be impacted the most. I’m asking everyone to step up and join me in support of UNICEF’s vital work to save children's lives, to protect health and continue education."
Greta Thunberg
Joining forces to protect every child
Greta Thunberg received the Human Act Award 2020 on Earth Day, 22 April 2020, along with a donation of USD $100,000, which she has decided to donate to UNICEF. Human Act is doubling Greta ́s donation – and the total sum of USD $200,000 has been donated to support UNICEF’s ongoing work fighting Coronavirus.
How your donation can help
Alongside the supply of critical resources and emergency care, UNICEF is working with partners to reach millions of children who are out of school with educational resources, social protection and ongoing essential healthcare in the more than 190 countries where we work. Your support will help UNICEF protect children and their families during this crisis.
"The time is now, there isn’t a day to lose. We must unite together in this fight."
Greta Thunberg
“Together we want to inspire all fellow global citizens – from youth and grassroot level to politicians, scientists and high-level decision makers – to stand together in solidarity. No child should be left behind in the face of the pandemic. Please do what you can today.”
