In Al Hawtah, Yemen, Raneem Hani (18)  shares a story of sorrow and happiness. Here, where life is tough, millions of children like her 4-month-old son Sanad are at risk of severe malnutrition.

"I'd do anything for my son," she says, describing her struggle to afford proper baby food. After trying other places for help, she found relief at a UNICEF-supported Therapeutic Feeding Centre. Your continued support ensures mothers like Raneem find the help they need to save their children.

This centre is a lifeline for children battling severe acute malnutrition, striving to provide equal opportunities for every child in need. By offering essential care and support, the centre ensures that each child has access to life-saving treatments and a chance for a better future. Your support makes this crucial work possible, bringing hope to children and families.

Despite this success, the crisis of malnutrition in Yemen continues, bringing immense suffering to innocent children who are already deeply affected by conflict. The ongoing troubles in the country, along with its fragile economy and disrupted food supply, make the situation even worse for these children, worsening their already dire circumstances.

🌍 Malnutrition rates among women and children in Yemen remain among the highest in the world.

⚠️ Over 2.2 million children under five required treatment for acute malnutrition, which is a life-threatening condition that can have long-term effects on a child’s development and health even if they receive urgent care.

🤰 Around 1.3 million pregnant or breastfeeding women require treatment for malnutrition.

🚨 An estimated 20 per cent of children under five in some parts of Yemen suffer from severe acute malnutrition and are in urgent need of treatment.

You can provide hope and life-saving care to children in Yemen and around the world. Every donation counts towards ensuring a brighter future for these innocent lives.

Empowering young leaders in Malaysia's climate conversations
UNICEF placed young people across Malaysia at the centre of climate conversations. We trained and actively involved them in global climate discussions and decision-making processes.

Through initiatives like Youth Empowered, we've bolstered the leadership and advocacy skills of 4,600 young individuals, including 1,500 youth and 3,100 adolescents. These efforts have positioned youth prominently in key climate events such as Asia Pacific Climate Week, COP28, and the mid-term review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
