🚨 Afghanistan Earthquake Pushes Children Deeper Into Crisis

Already facing years of conflict and deprivation, children in Afghanistan are now hit by a devastating earthquake.

What is happening in Afghanistan?

A powerful 6.0 earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on 31 August - flattening homes, cutting of villages, and leaving children trapped under rubble.

More than 1,400 people have lost their lives and over 3,000 are injured.

Children are among the worst affected — left homeless, frightened, and cut off from food, safe water, and medical care.

Afghanistan was already one of the toughest places in the world to grow up. Millions of children were living on the edge due to fragile health systems, food insecurity, and limited access to safe water and protection.

Now, the earthquake has pushed families into an even deeper crisis.

👉 Your support today can help rush life-saving aid to children who need it most.

UNICEF is deeply concerned for the children and families impacted by the earthquake in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces.

Hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties. Roads blocked by landslides make it difficult for rescue teams to reach survivors. Families have lost homes, belongings, and loved ones.

With your support, children can receive:

🩵Urgent medical attention for injured children.
🩵Safe shelter, hygiene kits, and clean water for families.
🩵Comfort and care for traumatised children in child-friendly spaces.
🩵Warm clothing and blankets to protect children from the cold.

This crisis is unfolding by the hour. Your donation can make a life-saving difference for children right now.
