Every day, millions of children struggle.
Children shouldn’t have to fight for their basic needs.
For millions of children around the world, every day is a fight for survival. They wake up hungry. They walk miles to fetch water. They miss out on school because of conflict, crisis, or poverty.
- 148 million children under five suffer from stunting due to malnutrition.
- 2.2 billion people lack access to safe and clean drinking water.
- Over 1,000 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation

But every day, UNICEF is there—delivering life-saving aid, providing hope, and ensuring children have a future. With your help, we can reach even more children.

Malnutrition/Food crises
UNICEF and partners are responding to food crises, including rising rates of child wasting in the Sahel as well as the malnutrition crisis in the Horn of Africa — the result of widespread, extreme food insecurity brought on by severe drought (exacerbated by climate change) and compounded by rising food prices.

Children in Gaza and Lebanon Crisis
The humanitarian situation for children in Gaza, Lebanon and Israel is dire, with over 1 million children affected. UNICEF is calling for a ceasefire, the release of all hostages and safe, sustained access to urgently needed supplies and assistance.
UNICEF and partners are working to deliver lifesaving aid to hundreds of thousands of children who remain trapped in a war zone with little or no access to food, water, electricity, medicine or medical care after deadly attacks in Israel gave way to devastating retaliatory air strikes in Gaza. UNICEF is also working to provide emergency aid to children and families caught in intensifying violence between Israel and Hezbollah.

Child malnutrition and threat of famine in Sudan
Fifteen months into the conflict, Sudan is facing the worst levels of acute food insecurity ever recorded. An estimated 882,000 children, under the age of five, living in these areas are malnourished. Nearly 143,000 of them suffer from severe acute malnutrition and require immediate treatment. UNICEF continues to move lifesaving nutrition supplies through crossline and cross-border operations. sufficient to treat 215,000 severely malnourished children.

Extreme weather disasters/Climate Change Crisis
When vulnerable communities are threatened by extreme weather — which is happening more and more, all around the world, as a result of climate change — UNICEF is among the first on the ground, often prepositioning supplies and joining local efforts to support and protect displaced children and families.
Floods and landslides triggered by Typhoon Yagi have ravaged Viet Nam, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, affecting nearly 6 million children and compromising their access to clean water, education, healthcare, food, and shelter—pushing already marginalized communities deeper into crisis.
