"I used to take my bag to school, but it got torn" Jana says, a painful reminder of the childhood stolen from her.

Kiara’s health took a dangerous turn when severe diarrhea and fever left her weak. Her father, Mazen, a fisherman in Yemen, struggled to provide for his family amid ongoing conflict and climate challenges.
At a UNICEF-supported health center, Kiara was diagnosed with severe acute malnutrition. She received urgent treatment, including therapeutic food and a measles vaccine.
"Her hand was the size of my finger, and she could not even sit, but now she can sit and move around," her mother, Aisha, shared with relief.
Farha, a widowed mother of five in rural Damascus, struggled to provide for her children after her husband's passing. “Our life turned upside down,” she recalled. Hunger often forced them to go to bed empty-handed.
Everything changed when a UNICEF-supported cash assistance program identified Farha’s family as beneficiaries. “I bought food first—rice, sugar, lentils—and a wooden stove,” she shared.
With warmth and meals finally secured, she now dreams of buying her children new clothes. “For the first time since my husband’s death, I feel someone is helping me carry the heavy burden.”
