“Sometimes I have nothing but some yogurt to feed my five daughters. My husband has been struggling to find a job with no luck,” -Layan's mother
Years of conflict and the recent devastating earthquake in Syria have left millions of children like Layan and her family struggling to make ends meet, requiring help to ensure basic food, water, and medical treatment for their children.
Thankfully, with timely intervention from UNICEF and its partners, Layan recovered and has the strength again to smile, play, and hope for a better future – but millions of children in countries like Syria, Yemen, and Sudan are still fighting malnutrition.
UNICEF is working on the ground to screen children, provide life-saving therapeutic food, and ensure health care and medical treatment to help children recover. Since 2022, UNICEF in Syria has reached 3.6 million people with life-saving health support and 2.5 million with nutrition services. But we need your help to reach more children in need.
