Children in Afghanistan urgently need your help

UNICEF is moving quickly to respond to the needs of thousands of families and children impacted by a major earthquake that struck several districts and provinces of Afghanistan on 22 June 2022.

Time is critical. We urgently need your support to respond to the needs of children affected by this earthquake. Please make an urgent donation.

UNICEF is on the ground providing life-saving supplies and support to families and children affected by the devastating consequences of a 5.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the Central Region of Afghanistan early morning on 22nd June 2022.

We are still assessing the full extent of the devastation, but we already fear that hundreds of people have been killed, including many women and children. Many more have been injured and many homes damaged or destroyed. Right now, UNICEF has dispatched several mobile health and nutrition teams that are assessing the damage and pre-positioning emergency supplies to provide first aid to those who are injured.

As reports trickle in, we fear that children are the most vulnerable and that many lives are at risk.

Children who are now in immediate danger of being hurt or killed in the oncoming aftershocks and collapse of infrastructures need urgent shelter, safe drinking water, and hygiene essentials.

We can’t afford to wait and we urgently need your support to reach children.
Please make an urgent donation today.

For a long time, Afghanistan has been one of the most dangerous places to be a child. War, destruction and loss has been the common place for children, families and communities in the country. Now, the impact of such a devastating earthquake makes the situation even more desperate. We cannot wait – please donate to help us save lives.

Your donation can make a huge difference. Please help now!
