Even in times of war and pandemic, no child should be left behind.
For many children in Syria and Yemen, learning has been interrupted due to displacement and conflict. Almost 100 million children between 5 and 17 have their schools closed, but that doesn´t mean that their learning should stop.
"I am very optimistic knowing that education can help children fulfil their ambitions." Nour would like to pursue her education and aspires to become a psychologist in the future in order to help her community. With her father´s support and through the UNICEF-supported 'Curriculum B' accelerated learning programme, Nour returned to school and she has been catching up on her missed learning after years of war in Syria.
UNICEF is supporting local communities and teachers to help them cope with the Covid-19 situation to ensure that every child can keep learning from home. We are also working with local governments to help them prepare to re-open.
Children want to build their own future, and with your help, they will be able to do so.
