UNICEF is on the ground, assessing and responding to urgent needs, providing essential support to children and their families in crisis.

Your donation today will help us deliver life-saving supplies and critical care where it is needed most.

Over 400 million children live in countries where there is war or other violent conflicts. Often forced to flee their homes in search of safety, many remain displaced for extended periods of time, or never return home. Some are orphaned or separated from parents and caregivers.

Over half of all civilians killed by landmines and explosive remnants of war are children. Verified attacks on children have tripled since 2010.

UNICEF is working alongside partners to meet the urgent needs of children impacted by wars in places such as Gaza, Sudan, Syria,Lebanon, Ukraine and Yemen.

Children in Gaza and Lebanon

Children are dying at an alarming rate –After over a year of intense hostilities, tens of thousands of people have been killed in Gaza. 60% of those killed are women and children. Around 1.7 million people in the Gaza Strip are estimated to have been internally displaced – half of them children. They do not have enough access to water, food, fuel and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed; their families torn apart.UNICEF and its partners are on the ground in Gaza delivering immediate humanitarian support.
Hostilities in Lebanon escalated on September 23-24, 2024, with over 9,400 airstrikes across multiple governorates. As of 08 October 2024, over 2,300 deaths were registered, including a reported number of 127 children, 261 women, 100 health workers and two UN staff, as well as injuries to over 10,700 people, including 890 children, since October 2023. Nearly 75% of casualties took place in the past three weeks.
